About Select for Inspection
Select for Inspection, Instant, designed by James Paick first released in Sep, 2016 in the set Kaladesh and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
Select for Inspection would be beneficial in a tempo or control deck that aims to disrupt the opponent's board state while also gaining card selection through scrying. However, there are more efficient options available, such as Unsummon or Blink of an Eye, which provide similar effects at the same cost or lower. Overall, Select for Inspection may not see much play in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks due to the availability of stronger alternatives.
Rules
09/20/16
If the target creature becomes untapped or otherwise becomes an illegal target before Select for Inspection resolves, the spell doesn’t resolve. The creature remains on the battlefield and you won’t scry 1.
