This deck, as its name implies, puts pressure on the opponent from the very first turns onward by playing a significant number of characters on the board.

Notice how this list is more aggressive, as it has more 1-cost cards than usual: Ant-Man, Elektra, Nightcrawler, Squirrel Girl, and Blade.

This deck also uses Kazar and Blue Marvel to buff your other characters. The more characters you have on board when you play them, the more powerful they are.

Game Plan

Despite what it seems, this deck's greatest strength is not its cheap characters and Kazar and Blue Marvel, which buff them.

Your biggest surprise will be Strong Guy, which, in this list, easily gets to nine power. Like so, this deck also works with a discard strategy, as your main goal is to get rid of your hand to make Strong Guy as strong as he can be.

And, as we'll use this type of strategy, we also have to play Wolverine. When we discard him, he'll enter play automatically and add four power to our overall board.

However, ideally, you should do this later on. Allow me to explain how you should play earlier turns: first, focus on Angela, as her effect gives her one power for each character you play in the same location as her.

To get the most out of her, you can play Nightcrawler in the same location as Angela and then move him later to play another character there. By the way, as you need to focus on filling the location Angela is in, play Ant-Man there too, as he gets stronger when you play him in a full location.

If you can't draw Angela, don't worry, as you can definitely win without her, particularly if you build a robust board with Strong Guy.

We can also win without him by just playing cheap characters, filling locations (particularly Angela's), and buffing them with Kazar and Blue Marvel.

Ideally, you want a board like the one below:

In this match, I focused on playing Angela with Ant-Man, and also discarded Wolverine to put him in play. This won me the match, as discarding my cards also buffed Strong Guy.

However, keep in mind that this list can win matches in many ways. Analyze each game you play carefully, and look at the locations you got as well as your opponent's cards to always make the best decision possible. Don't focus too much on this "perfect scenario", as the best thing about this deck is its flexibility. You can win either by discarding your cards and playing a big Strong Guy or by swarming buffed characters.

Possible Changes

Some versions of this deck play Apocalypse instead of Strong Guy as its biggest character, which is interesting, considering many times I was hesitant to play Lady Sif. She discards the most expensive card in your hand, which is definitely not ideal when that card is Blue Marvel.

Another card you can swap is Blue Marvel himself. Instead, play America Chavez, as she will be another 1-cost character for your board and also buff your deck, albeit a bit less than other cards.

All of this is up to you and how you feel comfortable while playing this deck. I, myself, believe Blue Marvel is important, and I don't like not playing him, even though, occasionally, I can't play Lady Sif because he is in my hand.

Weaknesses

There are a few cards in the lower Pools that can stop our game plan.

Enchantress disables our two "AoE (Area of Effect)" buffs, as she disables Kazar and Blue Marvel. As for Cosmo and Professor X, they prevent us from playing discard cards (as our cards' effects are On Reveal) in their locations.

Finally, as part of our goal is playing as many characters as we want, we are vulnerable to The Punisher and Spider-Woman because they are both stronger when there are more enemy characters on the board.

If you look closely at the image I used when discussing your ideal board, you'll notice Spider-Woman almost cost me the game, even with Angela and Ant-Man. I lost that location to just two enemy cards. She's definitely a problem for this deck.

Final Words

Discard Aggro is relatively easy to pilot and quite fun. I'm sure it will be a great option to play through Pool 1. If you want to check out other strategies for this Pool, I highly recommend our article on Odin On Reveallink outside website!
