A Lorehold Excavation card would be beneficial in a red-white aggro or midrange deck that aims to apply pressure on the opponent while gaining incremental value through milling and life gain. However, in more competitive settings, there are better options available such as Seasoned Pyromancer or Dreadhorde Arcanist, which provide more immediate impact and card advantage. While Lorehold Excavation has some potential, it may not see much play in highly optimized decks due to its slower and more conditional nature.
