About Blade Historian
Blade Historian, Creature — human cleric, designed by Cristi Balanescu first released in Mar, 2021 in the set Strixhaven: School of Mages and was printed exactly in 5 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Commander.
This card would be a strong addition to an aggressive Boros (red/white) deck focused on attacking with creatures, especially those with high power. While Blade Historian's ability to grant double strike to attacking creatures is powerful, it may be overshadowed by other cards like Aurelia, Exemplar of Justice, which not only grants double strike but also has additional abilities. However, Blade Historian could still see play in decks looking to maximize the potential of double strike abilities and create explosive combat situations.
Rules
04/16/21
If Blade Historian leaves the battlefield after first-strike combat damage has been dealt but before regular combat damage (perhaps because it attacked and was destroyed by first-strike combat damage), attacking creatures you control will lose double strike. A creature without double strike won’t deal regular combat damage if it already dealt first-strike damage that turn.
