About Besmirch
Besmirch, Sorcery, designed by Mathias Kollros first released in Aug, 2016 in the set Conspiracy: Take the Crown and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
This card, Besmirch, would be beneficial in a deck that focuses on aggressive strategies and stealing opponent's creatures to turn them against each other. It could fit well in a red-based aggressive deck looking to disrupt the opponent's board state and apply pressure. However, there are potentially better options like Act of Treason or Threaten which offer similar effects at a lower cost, making Besmirch less competitive in terms of efficiency. Overall, while Besmirch has its niche uses, it may not see widespread play in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks due to its higher mana cost compared to other similar cards.
Rules
08/23/16
Attacking with a goaded creature doesn’t cause it to stop being goaded. If there is an additional combat phase that turn, or if another player gains control of it before it stops being goaded, it must attack again if able.
08/23/16
Gaining control of a creature doesn’t cause you to gain control of any Auras or Equipment attached to it.
08/23/16
If the creature doesn’t meet any of the above exceptions and can attack, it must attack a player other than the controller of the spell or ability that goaded it if able. It the creature can’t attack any of those players but could otherwise attack, it must attack an opposing planeswalker (controlled by any opponent) or the player that goaded it.
08/23/16
The creature you gain control of must attack during your turn if able.
