About Soul Burn
Soul Burn, Sorcery, designed by Rob Alexander first released in May, 2020 in the set Ice Age and was printed exactly in 6 different ways.
A deck focused on dealing direct damage and gaining life, such as a Black-Red Burn deck, would benefit from including Soul Burn. However, there are potentially better cards for this purpose, such as Lightning Bolt or Lava Spike, which offer more efficient damage output for their mana cost. Soul Burn could see play in a deck looking to maximize life gain synergies or in a more casual setting for its unique effect, but in competitive play, there are likely more optimal choices available.
Rules
10/04/04
Will give 1 life for each black mana used, but not more life than the amount of unprevented damage that is dealt.
