About Scourglass
Scourglass, Artifact, designed by Matt Cavotta first released in Oct, 2008 in the set Shards of Alara and was printed exactly in 3 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Commander.
This card, Scourglass, would be a great addition to a control deck that focuses on stalling the game and maintaining board control until it can establish a dominant position. While Scourglass can be a powerful board wipe, it's important to note that it only spares artifacts and lands, so decks that heavily rely on non-artifact permanents may not benefit as much. Other cards like Wrath of God or Damnation offer more flexibility by destroying all creatures, making them potentially better choices depending on the deck's strategy. However, Scourglass could still see play in specific artifact-heavy decks or as a sideboard option against decks with a high number of non-artifact permanents.
Rules
10/01/08
The only difference between a colored artifact and a colorless artifact is, obviously, its color. Unlike most artifacts, a colored artifact requires colored mana to cast. Also unlike most artifacts, a colored artifact has a color in all zones. It will interact with cards that care about color. Other than that, a colored artifact behaves just like any other artifact. It will interact as normal with any card that cares about artifacts, such as Shatter or Arcbound Ravager.
