About Research the Deep
Research the Deep, Sorcery, designed by Eric Fortune first released in Feb, 2008 in the set Morningtide.
A deck that focuses on card draw and tempo advantage would benefit from including Research the Deep, as it provides card advantage and the potential to bounce back to your hand if you win the clash. However, there are better options for card draw and tempo plays in formats like Magic: the Gathering, such as Snapcaster Mage or Cryptic Command, which offer more versatile and impactful effects. Research the Deep may see play in casual or limited formats, but competitive decks would likely opt for more powerful and consistent options.
Rules
04/01/08
If you win the clash, the spell moves from the stack to your hand as part of its resolution. It never hits the graveyard. If you don’t win the clash, the spell is put into the graveyard from the stack as normal.
