About Grafdigger's Cage
Grafdigger's Cage, Artifact, designed by Nils Hamm first released in Jun, 2002 in the set Magic Online Promos and was printed exactly in 8 different ways.
A deck that relies heavily on graveyard recursion or graveyard-based strategies, such as Dredge, Reanimator, or Delve decks, would benefit from including Grafdigger's Cage to shut down opponent's graveyard interactions. However, there are potentially better cards like Rest in Peace or Leyline of the Void that offer more comprehensive graveyard hate. Grafdigger's Cage should still see play in sideboards of decks that need specific graveyard hate without committing too many resources.
Rules
07/12/19
Look at the card as it exists in your graveyard to determine whether it can enter the battlefield. For example, Sculpting Steel can be put onto the battlefield as a copy of a creature, but Phyrexian Metamorph can’t be put onto the battlefield, even if it would copy a noncreature artifact.

Players can still play lands from graveyards or libraries if an effect allows them to do so.
