About Zur the Enchanter

Zur the Enchanter, Legendary creature — human wizard, designed by Pete Venters first released in Jul, 2006 in the set Coldsnap and was printed exactly in 12 different ways.

A deck focused on enchantments and control would greatly benefit from including Zur the Enchanter, as it allows for consistent tutoring of powerful enchantments to the battlefield. While there are other strong cards in Magic: The Gathering that can provide similar effects, Zur's ability to search for enchantments with a mana value of 3 or less at the cost of attacking makes it a valuable inclusion in the right deck. Whether or not Zur should see play ultimately depends on the strategy and synergy of the deck it is being considered for.

Rules

11/10/20

If you put an Aura onto the battlefield without being cast, you choose what it will enchant as it enters the battlefield. An Aura put onto the battlefield this way doesn’t target anything (so it could be attached to an opponent’s permanent with hexproof, for example), but the Aura’s enchant ability restricts what it can be attached to. If the Aura can’t legally be attached to anything, it remains in your library.
