A deck that focuses on card advantage and doesn't mind losing a bit of life would benefit from using Phyrexian Rager, such as a black control or midrange deck. While there may be better options for card draw and life loss synergy, such as Dark Confidant, Phyrexian Rager can still be a solid inclusion in decks looking for a budget-friendly option or additional redundancy in card draw effects.
