About Lava Axe

Lava Axe, Sorcery, designed by Adrian Smith first released in May, 1997 in the set Portal and was printed exactly in 21 different ways.

A red aggressive deck focused on dealing direct damage to the opponent would benefit from including Lava Axe, as it provides a quick burst of damage to finish off the opponent. However, there are better options available such as Lightning Bolt, which is more versatile and efficient for its cost, making it a more popular choice in competitive play. Lava Axe could be considered in casual or budget decks, but it may not see much play in more competitive environments.
