This Gold-Forged Thopteryx card would be a great addition to a control or midrange deck that focuses on protecting legendary permanents while gaining life and dealing damage in the air. While it offers a strong defensive ability with ward {2}, there may be better options depending on the specific strategy of the deck, such as Teferi, Time Raveler for control decks or Baneslayer Angel for midrange strategies.
