Firefly Swarm, Action, designed by None first released in May, 2026 in the set Wilds Unknown. It see play in 1 formats: Casual.
**Firefly Swarm** fits best in aggressive or midrange **Ruby decks** that either pressure early boards or actively fuel their discard pile (through self-discard, challenge trades, or effects that send multiple cards to discard in a turn). The first mode makes it solid early removal against low-Strength utility characters (like Lilo, Maleficent – Biding Her Time, or other lore engines), while the second mode rewards more explosive turns in decks that naturally bin multiple cards (such as Ruby/Amethyst or Ruby/Steel builds with lots of actions and trades). However, Ruby has more efficient or flexible removal options—**Dragon Fire** (unconditional banish), **Be Prepared** (board wipe), and **Sisu – Empowered Sibling** (repeatable removal) are generally stronger and more consistent. Because Firefly Swarm is conditional and somewhat narrow, it’s playable in the right meta (especially against low-Strength-heavy decks), but it’s usually not a staple and often gets outclassed by Ruby’s premium
