Een kaartspel met een landfall-thema zou enorm profiteren van het opnemen van Scute Swarm, omdat het snel een zwerm krachtige insectenfiches kan genereren. Er zijn echter potentieel betere kaarten voor deze strategie, zoals Avenger of Zendikar, die in één keer een groter aantal tokens creëert. Scute Swarm zou nog steeds spel kunnen zien in een landfall-deck vanwege de incrementele tokengeneratie en het potentieel voor explosieve groei met zes of meer landen.
