About Maalstroom Colossus
Maalstroom Colossus, Artefactwezen - golem, designed by Svetlin Velinov first released in Oct, 2020 in the set Commander Legends and was printed exactly in 2 different ways. It see play in 2 formats: Pauper and Commander.
Maelstrom Colossus zou een geweldige aanvulling zijn op een kaartspel dat zich richt op het uitspreken van dure spreuken en het profiteren van de cascademogelijkheid om mogelijk gratis extra spreuken uit te spreken. Hoewel het een krachtig voordeel kan bieden in het juiste kaartspel, zijn er andere kaarten zoals Maelstrom Wanderer die vergelijkbare effecten bieden met extra voordelen, waardoor ze mogelijk betere keuzes zijn voor bepaalde strategieën. Maelstrom Colossus zou echter nog steeds spel kunnen zien in decks die de cascade-triggers willen maximaliseren en willen profiteren van het potentieel voor explosief spel.

A spell’s converted mana cost is determined only by its mana cost. Ignore any alternative costs, additional costs, cost increases, or cost reductions. For example, Bloodbraid Elf’s converted mana cost is always 4.

The converted mana cost of a modal double-faced card in exile is that of its front face. If the last card you exile is a modal double-faced card, you may only cast the back face if the resulting spell would also have a lesser converted mana cost than the spell with cascade.

When the cascade ability resolves, you must exile cards. The only optional part of the ability is whether or not you cast the last card exiled.

The cascade ability triggers when you cast the spell, meaning that it resolves before that spell. If you cast the card exiled by the cascade ability, that spell will go on the stack above the spell with cascade.

You don’t have to cast the last card exiled by a cascade ability. If you choose to do so, you’re casting it as a spell. This means that it can be countered, and appropriate abilities trigger (such as if that spell also has cascade).
