Een Laboratory Maniac is het meest geschikt voor een combo-deck dat zich richt op het snel trekken en door kaarten bladeren om de winvoorwaarde van een lege bibliotheek te bereiken. Decks die kaarten zoals Demonic Consultation of Tainted Pact gebruiken om hun bibliotheek te verbannen en de winconditie met Laboratory Maniac te activeren, zijn bijzonder effectief.
