Hushwing Gryff zou een waardevolle toevoeging zijn aan een controle- of tempodeck dat de strategieën van de tegenstander wil verstoren door de vaardigheden van wezens bij binnenkomst uit te schakelen. Hoewel het een uniek effect biedt, kunnen andere kaarten zoals Hushbringer en Tocatli Honor Guard een vergelijkbare verstoring veroorzaken met extra voordelen, waardoor ze mogelijk veelzijdiger opties worden, afhankelijk van de specifieke kaartspelstrategie. Hushwing Gryff zou spel kunnen zien in bepaalde metagames waarin de vaardigheden van wezens overheersen, maar de opname ervan zou afhangen van de algehele samenstelling van het kaartspel en het spelplan.

If Hushwing Gryff and another creature enter the battlefield at the same time, neither creature entering the battlefield will cause triggered abilities to trigger.

The trigger event doesn’t have to specify “creatures” entering the battlefield. For example, Amulet of Vigor says “Whenever a permanent enters the battlefield tapped and under your control, untap it.” If a creature enters the battlefield tapped and under your control, Amulet of Vigor’s ability would not trigger. If a land (that isn’t also a creature) enters the battlefield tapped and under your control, Amulet of Vigor’s ability would trigger.
