Een kaartspel dat zich richt op agressieve rode strategieën met een mix van burn- en handverstoring zou baat hebben bij het opnemen van Collective Defiance. Hoewel het flexibiliteit biedt met zijn meerdere modi, zijn er potentieel betere kaarten voor specifieke strategieën, zoals Lightning Bolt voor directe schade of Thoughtseize voor handverstoring. Collective Defiance zou echter spel in decks kunnen zien die op zoek zijn naar een veelzijdige optie die de handen van tegenstanders kan verstoren en tegelijkertijd schade kan toebrengen aan wezens of planeswalkers.
