About Choking Sands
Choking Sands, Sorcery, designed by Roger Raupp first released in Oct, 1996 in the set Mirage and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.
A deck that focuses on disrupting the opponent's mana base, such as a land destruction or resource denial strategy, would benefit from using Choking Sands. However, there are more efficient and versatile land destruction cards available in Magic: the Gathering, such as Sinkhole or Wasteland, which offer more impactful effects for a similar cost. Choking Sands may see play in specific metagames where nonbasic lands are prevalent, but in general, there are better options for land destruction in competitive decks.
