While Alchemist's Refuge can provide flexibility and surprise factor by allowing spells to be cast as though they had flash, there are potentially better options like Teferi, Time Raveler or Leyline of Anticipation that offer similar effects without the need to pay an additional cost. However, Alchemist's Refuge could still see play in decks looking for redundancy or additional ways to play spells at instant speed.
