Phantasmal Fiend encajaría bien en un mazo de control o tempo que aproveche las ilusiones y la manipulación, ya que su capacidad para cambiar el poder y la resistencia puede crear escenarios de combate ventajosos o protegerlo de la eliminación. Sin embargo, puede que no sea la opción más eficiente en comparación con cartas como Delver of Secrets o Snapcaster Mage, que ofrecen valor y utilidad más consistentes por costos de maná similares. Si bien Phantasmal Fiend puede ser una inclusión divertida y sorprendente, sus habilidades específicas pueden limitar su jugabilidad en formatos competitivos, lo que lo convierte en una opción más situacional que un elemento básico.

Effects that switch a creature’s power and toughness apply after all other effects, regardless of when those effects began to apply. For instance, if you target a 1/2 creature then give it +2/+0 later in the turn, it’s a 2/3 creature, not a 4/1 creature.
