Winnowing is best suited for a white-based tribal or token-heavy creature deck—especially one that floods the board with creatures sharing a single type (e.g., Soldiers, Humans, Spirits, or Cats)—because Convoke lets you tap your wide board to cast it efficiently while the effect functions as a one-sided wipe if your creatures all share a type and your opponents’ boards are more diverse; it’s particularly appealing in Commander tribal builds where opponents often control mixed creature types.
