About Scion of Darkness

Scion of Darkness, Creature — avatar, designed by Mark Zug first released in May, 2020 in the set Legions and was printed exactly in 4 different ways.

A deck that focuses on graveyard recursion and reanimation strategies would benefit from including Scion of Darkness, as it provides a powerful effect of bringing back creatures from the opponent's graveyard onto the battlefield under your control. While Scion of Darkness is a solid card for such a strategy, there are potentially better options available, such as Griselbrand or Sheoldred, Whispering One, which offer more impactful abilities for a similar mana cost. Whether Scion of Darkness should see play depends on the specific deck and its overall strategy, but it can be a strong inclusion in the right build.

Rules

10/04/04

If this card destroys a creature in combat and at the same time (using its Trample ability) it damages a player, you will be able to target the destroyed creature (if it was a card and not a token) to be brought back.
