The Pirate's Cutlass card would benefit a Pirate tribal deck in Magic: the Gathering, providing a boost to power and toughness for the equipped creature. While it's a solid inclusion for theme decks, there are potentially better options like Captain's Hook or Shadowspear that offer additional abilities or flexibility. However, Pirate's Cutlass could still see play in casual or budget decks looking to enhance their Pirate synergy.

You can cast Pirate’s Cutlass even if you control no Pirates. If you control no Pirates as Pirate’s Cutlass enters the battlefield, its triggered ability will have no effect.
