About Eat to Extinction

Eat to Extinction, Instant, designed by Vincent Proce first released in Jan, 2020 in the set Theros Beyond Death and was printed exactly in 5 different ways.

This card, Eat to Extinction, would be beneficial in a control deck that focuses on removing threats from the opponent's board while also gaining card advantage through surveil. While it offers versatility with its ability to exile both creatures and planeswalkers, there are potentially better options such as Vraska's Contempt, which provides immediate life gain in addition to exile, or Hero's Downfall for a lower mana cost. However, Eat to Extinction could still see play in certain metagames where the surveil ability is particularly valuable for setting up future draws and graveyard interactions.

Rules

01/24/20

If the target creature or planeswalker is an illegal target by the time Eat to Extinction tries to resolve, the spell won’t resolve. You won’t look at or move the top card of your library.
