This Village Elder card would be a great fit in a green-based creature deck that focuses on generating lots of mana and maintaining board presence. While it offers a useful ability to regenerate a target creature by sacrificing a Forest, there are more efficient cards like Yavimaya Elder or Sakura-Tribe Elder that provide additional benefits such as card draw or ramping. However, Village Elder could still see play in a deck that values creature resilience and mana efficiency.
