About Riot's Reason

Riot's Reason, Quick-play spell card, designed by Konami first released in Oct, 2025 in the set No set and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

**Riot’s Reason** would mainly benefit control or flip-focused decks that either reuse Flip Effects or don’t mind bouncing their own set monsters—such as Subterror, Shaddoll, Krawler, Ghostrick, or other set-heavy strategies that can gain value from re-setting monsters or triggering effects when flipped face-up. However, the card is very situational: it requires a face-down Defense Position target, gives the opponent a potential Special Summon, and its graveyard effect is reactive and niche. In modern Yu-Gi-Oh, faster and more consistent cards like **Compulsory Evacuation Device**, **Book of Moon**, **Book of Eclipse**, or even **Enemy Controller** generally provide better utility, disruption, or combo extension without giving the opponent equal advantage. Because it doesn’t generate clear advantage and is conditional, Riot’s Reason would likely not see competitive play and at best might be a casual tech choice in a dedicated flip-control strategy.
