However, there are potentially better options available such as Blightsteel Colossus or Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon, which offer more impactful threats with infect abilities. Pestilent Souleater could see play in specific budget or themed decks, but may not be a top choice in competitive environments due to its limited impact compared to other infect creatures.
