About Merchant Ship

Merchant Ship, Creature — human, designed by Tom Wänerstrand first released in Dec, 1993 in the set Arabian Nights.

Merchant Ship could be useful in a control deck that focuses on gaining life and stalling the game, especially against opponents who control Islands. However, there are better cards available, such as those with more impactful abilities or lower mana costs, making Merchant Ship less likely to see play in competitive Magic: The Gathering decks.

Rules

04/15/13

An ability that triggers when something “attacks and isn’t blocked” triggers in the declare blockers step after blockers are declared if (1) that creature is attacking and (2) no creatures are declared to block it. It will trigger even if that creature was put onto the battlefield attacking rather than having been declared as an attacker in the declare attackers step.
