About Environmental Scientist
Environmental Scientist, Creature — human druid, designed by Piotr Dura first released in Apr, 2026 in the set Secrets of Strixhaven. It see play in 1 formats: Commander.
Environmental Sciences (the 1G Human Druid you’re describing) fits best in slower green midrange, ramp, or multicolor “good-stuff” decks that value consistent land drops and color fixing over raw power, especially in Limited or budget builds where smoothing draws matters; it’s also mildly useful in landfall or blink shells that can reuse the enter-the-battlefield trigger. However, in most competitive Constructed formats there are stronger options: **Sakura-Tribe Elder** ramps directly to the battlefield, **Wood Elves** and **Farhaven Elf** provide immediate mana development, **Llanowar Elves/Elvish Mystic** accelerate faster on turn one, and spells like **Farseek**, **Nature’s Lore**, or **Three Visits** are more efficient at fixing and ramping. Because this card only puts the land into your hand (not onto the battlefield) and costs two mana for a 2/1 body with modest impact, it’s generally outclassed in optimized decks, though it can be perfectly serviceable in Limited, very low-power
