Teyo, the Shieldmage would be beneficial in a control deck that aims to protect its key cards and planeswalkers. While Teyo provides hexproof for the player, the ability to create a defensive wall token can help stall the game and protect against aggressive strategies. However, there are more versatile planeswalkers and cards that offer additional value or win conditions, such as Teferi, Time Raveler or Narset, Parter of Veils, making Teyo less likely to see play in competitive settings.
