About Send to Sleep
Send to Sleep, Instant, designed by Cynthia Sheppard first released in Jul, 2015 in the set Magic Origins and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
Send to Sleep could be a useful addition to a control or tempo deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it provides a cheap way to tap down potential threats and potentially lock them down with spell mastery. However, there are arguably better options available, such as Sleep or Cryptic Command, which offer more impactful effects for a similar cost. While Send to Sleep may not see widespread play in competitive decks, it could still have niche applications in certain strategies.
Rules
06/22/15
If the spell mastery ability applies and a creature affected by Send to Sleep changes controllers before its old controller’s next untap step, Send to Sleep will prevent it from becoming untapped during its new controller’s next untap step.
06/22/15
If you chose two targets and one is an illegal target when Send to Sleep resolves, that creature won’t become tapped and it won’t be stopped from untapping during its controller’s next untap step (if the spell mastery ability applies). It won’t be affected by Send to Sleep in any way.
