About Run Away Together
Run Away Together, Instant, designed by Filip Burburan first released in Sep, 2019 in the set Throne of Eldraine and was printed exactly in 9 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Commander.
A tempo or control deck would benefit from using Run Away Together in Magic: the Gathering, as it allows for disruption of the opponent's board state while potentially returning one of your own creatures for value. However, a similar card that could be considered better in certain situations is Unsummon, which only costs U and can target any creature, not just those controlled by different players. Run Away Together could see play as a niche card in specific metagames where bouncing multiple creatures is valuable, but may not be a staple in most decks due to its situational nature.
Rules
11/10/20
If one of the two target creatures becomes an illegal target, Run Away Together can still determine its controller only to check whether the other creature is a legal target. If the illegal target has left the battlefield, use its last known information. If the other creature is still a legal target, it’s returned to its owner’s hand.
