This card, Necromantic Thirst, would benefit a deck focused on graveyard recursion and creature-based strategies, such as a black-based reanimator deck or a sacrifice-themed deck. While Necromantic Thirst offers a useful ability to bring back creatures from the graveyard, there are potentially better options like Animate Dead or Dance of the Dead which provide more consistent and powerful effects for similar costs. Necromantic Thirst could see play in more casual or budget decks, but in competitive environments, it might be overshadowed by stronger options.

The target is chosen just after any creatures dealt lethal damage at the same time that the enchanted creature dealt damage have been put into the graveyard. That might include the enchanted creature itself, if it had trample and was blocked, for example.
