A deck that focuses on ramping up mana quickly and generating a large amount of mana would benefit from including Helix Pinnacle, as it allows for a win condition that doesn't rely on traditional combat or spellcasting. While Helix Pinnacle can be a fun and unique win condition, there are more efficient and reliable win conditions available in competitive Magic: The Gathering decks, such as combo finishes or aggressive strategies. In most cases, Helix Pinnacle may not see play in highly competitive decks, but it can certainly be a fun and flavorful addition to casual or themed decks.

Helix Pinnacle’s triggered ability has an “intervening ‘if’ clause.” That means (1) the ability won’t trigger at all unless Helix Pinnacle already has 100 or more tower counters on it as your upkeep begins, and (2) the ability will do nothing if Helix Pinnacle has lost enough counters such that it has fewer than 100 counters on it when the ability resolves.
