Grave Venerations fits best in slower, grindy black midrange or aristocrats-style Commander decks that can reliably maintain the monarch and repeatedly sacrifice creatures for value, such as Teysa Karlov, Liesa, Shroud of Dusk, or other Orzhov builds that focus on death triggers and incremental life drain; it also works well in mono-black control shells that want recursive card advantage and inevitability.
