About Dralnu, Lich Lord
Dralnu, Lich Lord, Legendary creature — zombie wizard, designed by Greg Staples first released in Oct, 2006 in the set Time Spiral and was printed exactly in 2 different ways. It's a key card in 1 combos.
Dralnu, Lich Lord would be a valuable addition to a control or spell-heavy deck that focuses on utilizing instants and sorceries. Its ability to grant flashback to spells in your graveyard can provide additional value and flexibility in casting spells multiple times. However, due to its drawback of sacrificing permanents instead of taking damage, it may require careful planning and protection to ensure its longevity on the battlefield. While there may be alternative cards with similar effects, Dralnu's unique combination of abilities makes it a viable choice for decks looking to maximize spell recursion and control strategies.
Rules
03/19/21
A spell cast using flashback will always be exiled afterward, whether it resolves, is countered, or leaves the stack in some other way.
03/19/21
Dralnu may be one of the permanents you sacrifice while applying its replacement effect.
03/19/21
If a card with flashback is put into your graveyard during your turn, you can cast it if it’s legal to do so before any other player can take any actions.
03/19/21
If a split card gains flashback, you pay only the cost of the half you’re casting.
03/19/21
If any of the sacrificed permanents would deal or be dealt damage at the same time as Dralnu, they deal or are dealt damage at the same time that they’re sacrificed. Any abilities of the sacrificed permanents that would trigger on that damage don’t trigger, but abilities of other permanents that trigger on that damage do.
03/19/21
If you cast a spell with flashback, you can’t pay any alternative costs such as overload costs. You can pay additional costs such as kicker costs. If the spell has any mandatory additional costs, you must pay those to cast the spell with flashback.
03/19/21
You must still follow any timing restrictions and permissions, including those based on the card’s type. For instance, you can cast a sorcery using flashback only when you could normally cast a sorcery.
09/25/06
All of the permanents are sacrificed at the same time, when the damage would have been dealt. So if Dralnu is one of the permanents you sacrifice due to its first ability, you must still sacrifice enough other permanents to equal the amount of damage that would have been dealt to it.
