About Dead Reveler

Dead Reveler, Creature — zombie, designed by David Palumbo first released in Oct, 2012 in the set Return to Ravnica and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.

Dead Reveler could be a valuable addition to a Rakdos aggro or sacrifice-themed deck in Magic: the Gathering, as its Unleash ability can provide a quick boost to its power. However, there are stronger options available in the same mana cost range, such as Diregraf Ghoul or Dread Wanderer, which offer more consistent value without the downside of not being able to block. Dead Reveler may not see significant play in competitive decks but could still be fun to experiment with in more casual settings.

Rules

04/15/13

A creature with unleash can’t block if it has any +1/+1 counter on it, not just one put on it by the unleash ability.

04/15/13

You make the choice to have the creature with unleash enter the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter or not as it’s entering the battlefield. At that point, it’s too late for a player to respond to the creature spell by trying to counter it, for example.
