Contradict, Instant, designed by Steve Prescott first released in Mar, 2015 in the set Dragons of Tarkir and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
Contradict would be beneficial in a control deck that focuses on disrupting the opponent's strategy by countering their spells while maintaining card advantage. While Contradict is a decent card, there are better options available such as Cryptic Command, which offers more versatility with additional modes like tapping creatures or bouncing permanents. Contradict could see play in budget decks or in specific metagames where its specific abilities are particularly useful.

If the spell becomes an illegal target (because it’s left the stack, for example) when Contradict tries to resolve, Contradict won’t resolve and none of its effects will happen. You won’t draw a card.
