About Clear the Stage
Clear the Stage, Instant, designed by Lucas Graciano first released in Jan, 2019 in the set Ravnica Allegiance.
Clear the Stage would benefit a black midrange or control deck that focuses on controlling the board with powerful creatures. It provides removal for smaller threats while also offering the potential to recur a creature from the graveyard, adding value and card advantage. However, there are better cards available that can provide similar effects more efficiently, such as Murder or Grasp of Darkness for removal, and Gravedigger for creature recursion. Clear the Stage may not see play in competitive decks due to its high mana cost and conditional effect.
Rules
01/25/19
You can’t cast Clear the Stage without a target creature to get -3/-3. If either target is illegal when Clear the Stage tries to resolve, the other is still affected as appropriate.
01/25/19
You check whether you control a creature with power 4 or greater after the target creature gets -3/-3 but before it dies, if appropriate.
