About Assert Perfection
Assert Perfection, Sorcery, designed by Matt Stewart first released in Jan, 2026 in the set Lorwyn Eclipsed. It see play in 1 formats: Booster Draft.
Assert Perfection would fit best in a green-based aggressive or midrange deck that plays efficient creatures and wants cheap interaction—especially decks with high-power creatures (like 3+ power for two mana or scalable threats) so the fight-style damage effect can function as removal while also pushing extra damage; it’s particularly solid in mono-green stompy, Gruul, or Selesnya builds that curve out and pressure early. However, compared to similar cards, it’s generally outclassed: **Ram Through** is often better because it can hit any target and allows excess damage to trample over, **Tail Swipe** (with ferocious) and **Blizzard Brawl** (in snow decks) are more mana-efficient, and **Bushwhack** offers flexibility with a land mode. Because Assert Perfection only grants +1/+0 and limits the damage to creatures, it’s serviceable but not optimal, and would usually not see competitive play unless the format lacks stronger green fight or punch spells.
