About Temple Altisaur
Temple Altisaur, Creature — dinosaur, designed by Daarken first released in Jan, 2018 in the set Rivals of Ixalan Promos and was printed exactly in 3 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Commander.
A deck focused on a Dinosaur tribal theme in Magic: the Gathering would benefit from including Temple Altisaur as it provides protection to other Dinosaurs from damage. However, there are better cards that offer similar effects, such as Trapjaw Tyrant, which not only prevents damage but also exiles the source of the damage. While Temple Altisaur could see play in a casual Dinosaur-themed deck, more competitive decks may opt for more efficient options like Trapjaw Tyrant.
Rules
01/19/18
Combat damage can be assigned to other Dinosaurs you control as normal, but most of that damage will be prevented. For example, if a 3/3 Dinosaur you control blocks a 5/5 creature with trample, the attacking player may assign 2 of that creature’s combat damage to the player or planeswalker it’s attacking and Temple Altisaur will prevent 2 of the 3 damage assigned to the defending Dinosaur.
01/19/18
The effects of two Temple Altisaurs won’t reduce the damage from one source below 1 damage.
