About Pharika's Disciple
Pharika's Disciple, Creature — centaur warrior, designed by Karl Kopinski first released in Jul, 2015 in the set Magic Origins.
Pharika's Disciple would be a good fit in a green-black midrange or control deck that focuses on creature removal and combat strategies. Its deathtouch ability makes it a strong deterrent for opponents' creatures, while the renown mechanic provides a way to grow it into a more threatening threat. While there may be stronger options available depending on the specific deck strategy, Pharika's Disciple could see play in decks looking for a versatile and resilient creature.
Rules
06/22/15
If a renown ability triggers, but the creature leaves the battlefield before that ability resolves, the creature doesn’t become renowned. Any ability that triggers “whenever a creature becomes renowned” won’t trigger.
06/22/15
Renown won’t trigger when a creature deals combat damage to a planeswalker or another creature. It also won’t trigger when a creature deals noncombat damage to a player.
