Open the Gates, Sorcery, designed by John Thacker first released in Jan, 2019 in the set Ravnica Allegiance and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
A deck that focuses on ramping up mana quickly or fixing mana base would benefit from using Open the Gates in Magic: the Gathering. However, there are better cards like Rampant Growth or Farseek that can search for any basic land card without the restriction of being a Gate card, making them more versatile options. Open the Gates may still see play in decks specifically built around Gates synergies, but in most cases, other ramp spells would be more efficient choices.
