Spellgyre, Instant, designed by Alix Branwyn first released in Jul, 2024 in the set Bloomburrow.
Spellgyre would be a valuable addition to a control deck in Magic: the Gathering, offering versatility with its ability to either counter a spell or provide card advantage through surveil and drawing cards. While it may not be the absolute best option in all scenarios, it could find a place in decks looking for a flexible answer to various threats. Other cards like Cryptic Command or Force of Will might offer more utility in certain situations, but Spellgyre could still see play in the right deck.
