About Shelter
Shelter, Instant, designed by Christopher Moeller first released in May, 2020 in the set Odyssey and was printed exactly in 9 different ways. It see play in 2 formats: Commander and Alchemy.
This card, Shelter, would be beneficial in a white-based aggressive deck looking to protect key creatures and maintain card advantage. While Shelter is a solid option for providing temporary protection and card draw, other cards like Gods Willing or Brave the Elements offer similar effects while providing additional benefits such as scrying or protecting multiple creatures, making them potentially better choices depending on the deck's strategy. Shelter could see play in certain situations where the card draw is crucial, but it may not be a staple in competitive decks due to the availability of more versatile options.
Rules

Protection from a color means that the target creature can’t be blocked by creatures of that color, can’t be the target of spells of that color or abilities from sources of that color, can’t be enchanted or equipped by Auras or Equipment of that color, and all damage that sources of that color would deal to it is prevented. Nothing other than these events is prevented or illegal.

You can’t choose “artifact” or “colorless” as Shelter asks you to choose a color, since those are not colors.
