About Possessed Skaab

Possessed Skaab would be beneficial in a control deck that focuses on graveyard recursion and spell recycling. While it offers value by returning a card from the graveyard to the hand upon entering the battlefield and avoids being sent to the graveyard when it would die, there are potentially better options like Snapcaster Mage or Jace, Vryn's Prodigy that provide more versatile and powerful effects in competitive Magic: the Gathering formats. Possessed Skaab’s last ability will apply no matter what caused it to die (lethal damage, being sacrificed, enough -1/-1 counters, and so on). Possessed Skaab won’t go to the graveyard. It will be put from the battlefield into exile. Abilities that trigger whenever a creature dies won’t trigger.
