About Jeskai Sage
Jeskai Sage, Creature — human monk, designed by Craig J Spearing first released in Jan, 2015 in the set Fate Reforged and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
Jeskai Sage would be a great addition to a spell-heavy deck that focuses on casting noncreature spells frequently to trigger its prowess ability and draw cards upon its death. While Jeskai Sage is a solid choice for such a deck, more competitive options like Monastery Swiftspear or Stormchaser Mage may be preferred due to their immediate impact on the board. However, Jeskai Sage could still see play in a more casual or budget-friendly deck that values card draw and synergies with noncreature spells.
Rules
11/24/14
Any spell you cast that doesn’t have the type creature will cause prowess to trigger. If a spell has multiple types, and one of those types is creature (such as an artifact creature), casting it won’t cause prowess to trigger. Playing a land also won’t cause prowess to trigger.
11/24/14
Prowess goes on the stack on top of the spell that caused it to trigger. It will resolve before that spell.
