About Gore-House Chainwalker

Gore-House Chainwalker, Creature — human warrior, designed by Dan Murayama Scott first released in Oct, 2012 in the set Return to Ravnica.

Gore-House Chainwalker would be beneficial in an aggressive red deck that focuses on quick creature deployment and attacking. While it can't block when unleashed, its potential to enter the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter can make it a strong early-game threat. However, there are potentially better options such as Goblin Guide or Monastery Swiftspear that offer more consistent damage output and utility in aggressive strategies, so Gore-House Chainwalker may not see as much play in competitive decks.

Rules

04/15/13

A creature with unleash can’t block if it has any +1/+1 counter on it, not just one put on it by the unleash ability.

04/15/13

You make the choice to have the creature with unleash enter the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter or not as it’s entering the battlefield. At that point, it’s too late for a player to respond to the creature spell by trying to counter it, for example.
